International Women's Day Performance

Accenture's worldwide International Women's Day celebrations kicked off in Dublin at the Convention Centre on March 8th. I was honored to be a part of the celebrations and performed Jarrod Radnich's amazing rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody for the crowd. It was a truly special day and wonderful to meet so many inspirational women! #IWD2017

Award Winning Irish Pianist Máire Carroll Performs Exclusive Concert in TileStyle

We were delighted to have last year's bursary winner, Máire Carroll, perform an exclusive live concert in TileStyle last night. Over 60 guests were in attendance for this very special exhibition and recital, SPIORAD NA SAOIRSE (The Spirit of Freedom) which was dedicated to connecting melodies in remembrance of 1916.

Máire played five stunning pieces opening with the world premiere of a newly commissioned piece of work "Fireworks" composed by herself and RTE lyric fm's Composer in Residence, Sebastian Adams.

"Fireworks" commemorates the children of 1916, the 'un-sung' heroes of the revolution. The inspiration for this particular piece was taken from one story in Joe Duffy's book "Children of the Rising" that tells the tale of children stealing fireworks and setting them off on Sackville Street which led to the deaths of three children.

A copy of Joe Duffy's moving book, "Children of the Rising", was on display at the event.

"Working with my friend Sebastian and bringing this work to life has been an exciting experience and I was delighted when he accepted my invitation to compose for this special event" said Máire.

Máire also performed pieces by Sir Arnold Bax, Frédéric Chopin and John Field at the event.

Máire is currently completing her M.Mus one year intensive degree, on scholarship, at the Royal academy of Music, London, and this recital and exhibition was the final part of her degree. She was a joint winner of the Jim McNaughton / TileStyle bursary in 2015, which she was presented with at the Allianz Business to Arts Awards.

More photos of the evening will be posted on our Facebook later today. Like our page to be notified :)

Jim McNaughton/Tile Style Artist Bursary: Business to Arts 2015

Last Tuesday, September 1st, I was delighted to be a recipient of the Jim McNaughton/Tile Style Artist Bursary 2015 at this year's Allianz Business to Arts Awards. The ceremony saw some of the biggest names from the worlds of business and arts gather at the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre in Dublin where Minister for Arts, Heritage & the Gaeltacht, Heather Humphreys TD, was guest of honour.

I am incredibly honoured and excited to have received this bursary and would like to thank Business to Arts and Tilestyle for helping me continue to pursue my dream of becoming an international concert pianist. I look forward to many spectacular creative partnerships ahead!

BLACKOUT: Heighten your senses with Kirkos

Are you afraid of the dark? Get ready for an experience like no other. I am delighted to be performing in BLACKOUT as part of the Kirkos Ensemble. We will perform Messiaen's "Quartet for the end of time", which was written in a concentration camp and is a devout celebration of the composer's beloved God, summoning the entire spectrum of human suffering as it reaches for the heavens.

Thanks to all our supporters who helped fund this project:

Fun in the Sun: RTE Symphony Orchestra Summer Lunchtime Series

What better way to celebrate the arrival of summer than announcing that I will be performing with the RTE Symphony Orchestra at the National Concert Hall as part of their lunchtime Summer Series this June.  I will perform the fantastic César Franck's Symphonic Variations.
