Tour of the Baltic States

Pianist Máire Carroll will be touring the Baltic States from December 2nd until December 9th, 2017. She will be performing at the Irish Embassy in Riga, VIlnius and Tallinn. As well as performing solo recitals, Máire will be giving a series of masterclasses and duo performances.

National Concert Hall/ Crash Ensemble: 20 Years

''To mark Crash Ensemble’s 20th anniversary at the cutting edge of new music, the group commissioned new work from 20 Irish and international composers.

The works were premiered as part ‘CrashLands’ throughout summer 2017- in iconic rural locations scattered across Ireland.

This concert see’s Crash return to their home at the National Concert Hall to perform all 20 works over two nights. With films from CrashLands by filmmaker and cinematographer Brendan Canty (Feel Good Lost) and poems written in response to the tour from bi-lingual poet Doireann Ní Ghríofa.''

Irish Film Institute: Wilderness Notes

'The flagship Kirkos project for 2017 will be a presentation of three major chamber pieces accompanying/accompanied by three experimental films by members of the Irish-based but international Experimental Film Society.'

The venue is the basement of Filmbase, Dublin (IFI). There will be two showings. One on Friday, 1st September and another on Saturday, 2nd September.

Irish Heritage: Bursary winners recital

The evening will feature a concert by the joint winners of the Inaugural Irish Heritage Music Bursary (2015), Carolyn Holt, mezzo-soprano, and Máire Carroll, piano. This delightful programme includes Irish and international music by Mahler, Bax, Britten, Chopin, Field, Hammerstein and Saint-Saëns + the World Premiere of a song cycle of Yeats poems composed by the London-based Irish composer, David Wallace, who will be in attendance.

'Award-winning mezzo soprano, Olivia Warburton, joins forces with the equally talented Irish pianist, Máire Carroll in a programme designed to show off the range and diversity of her technique from opera (Handel and Mozart) to lieder and art song by Grieg and Frank Bridge. While both artists are in still their final studies, they already have an enviable international performance schedule under their belts.
